Our Approach

yoga n.png

Our yoga classes are taught by a combination of permanent on-site teachers and guest teachers visiting from abroad. We have decades of experience in human development, transformational and experiential learning, coaching, somatic movement, Ayurveda and yoga.

All of these practices, combined with our core methodology, support greater alignment, power, and possibility on and off the mat.

Daily classes range from vinyasa-inspired themes to restorative-focused classes. We promise an experience that centers the mind, rejuvenates the body, and revitalizes the being, whether you are a beginning yogi or a seasoned practitioner.

Pronounced “EYE-yer-VAY-da”, and translates to the “science of life”. Ayurveda is a 5,000-year-old health system of India that describes a complete, sophisticated, tried & true medical science of life that sets the stage for healthy living. The main principle is to support the prevention of illness or dis-ease, as well as promote a prolonged and balanced life.

Our authentic offerings include continuing education retreats specializing in Ayurveda, self-care and nutrition, Ayurveda-inspired yoga teacher trainings, as well as personal consultations and treatments with our on-site Ayurvedic Health Practitioner.

At peace retreat, we promote and encourage simple daily Ayurvedic living practices that support a balanced, healthy lifestyle in a safe and supportive environment.

Somatics is a greek-derived word meaning “of the body”.

It is the act of exploring and experiencing one’s inner world through movement exercise paired with sensory awareness and integration. The movement exercises are intended to interrupt habitual and or unhealthy patterns through neuromuscular re-patterning. The consequence is intended as a way to engage the drive to greater health, vitality and satisfaction.

peace retreat expert teachers will be your guides in daily meditation practices to support tuning in, deeper and deeper, into the vast ground of being that you are.

The intention of our Meditation Methodology is to become more human, more embodied, more at home, more enlivened, and more empowered by all that we are and all that we experience. It is not to reach for a cosmic, otherworldly, out-of-body, or out-of-mind state.

At peace retreat we meditate not to be calm, but to be real.

At peace retreat, one of our core elements is relationship. As such, you will come together with like-minded individuals with common interests, sharing experience, and creating meaningful relationships that may very well last a lifetime. The people you will meet on retreat understand your experience firsthand, will become your support system, encouragers and account-ability-buddies as you implement what you’ve learned to generate and manifest your intentions.

Doing this reset in a nourishing environment, with a group of like-minded people, is an extraordinary opportunity. We share our knowledge freely, with deep respect and compassion for what it means and feels like to be a human being in constant evolution.

Aligning Intentions with Action

intention icon b.png

This is the act of defining oneself, articulating who you are currently, who you wish to be in the future, defining the gap, and cultivating the distinctions and practices that will support your desired destination.

Real movement occurs through the power of intention, and ultimately aligning your intentions with your actions. You’ll understand both the benefits and pitfalls of defining your future, and also the necessity of setting the right intention. You’ll clarify your intentions and practices, envision your goals, and align them with your desired destinations.

Reclaim and Revitalize Your Being

The Sweat Lodge, also known as, Temascal or Inipi, is an ancient and pure medicine ceremony, a temple to honor the elements of earth, fire, water and air. An opportunity to experience a spiritual reunion with the creator and a respectful connection to the earth itself. The intention is to clean the mind, the body, and be in balance within.

Cacao ceremonies are rooted in helping to re-balance the energies within us, and restore good health. For centuries, cacao has been used to heal the mental, physical, and spiritual body.

Native shamanic tools like drumming, feather cleansing, smudging, and shamanic sound journeys may be used in the ceremony.

Body treatments are one of the most traditional and effective healing methods around. We honor and believe in the therapeutic qualities and integrative benefits of these treatments.

Our approach is designed to mobilize joints, muscle, connective tissue and nerves in order to facilitate healing and restore function - an essential element to your overall wellbeing.

When your body is at peace, it’s the ultimate expression of self-care.
